Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Vyndex. By creating an account, you agree to them. This is a young product built by a small team — if anything here seems off or you have questions, email us before assuming the worst.

What Shards are

Shards are a free, in-app measure of conviction. You earn them by signing up and by winning stakes — you can never buy them, sell them, or exchange them for money or anything with monetary value, and neither can we on your behalf. They have no cash value, aren't a currency, security, or commodity, and exist only inside Vyndex. Perks purchased with shards are debits, not purchases in the legal sense — nothing is ever paid out.

Your account

You need an account to stake, publish a project, or redeem perks. You're responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your credentials to yourself. One person, one account — we may remove duplicate or fraudulent accounts.

How milestones get resolved

Founders self-report whether their milestone hit or missed. That's a trust-based system, not a verified one — we don't independently check every claim. Anyone can flag a resolution they think is wrong; flagged milestones are held for admin review before payouts go out. We'll act on clear evidence of a false claim, but we can't guarantee every resolution is accurate, and we're not liable for a founder misreporting their own outcome.

Perks and redemptions

Perks (discounts, invites, whatever a founder offers) are created and fulfilled entirely by the founder who publishes them — Vyndex only handles the shards debit. We don't guarantee a perk's availability, quality, or that it'll actually be honored; that's between you and the founder. Report a founder who takes shards for a perk they don't deliver and we'll investigate.

Paid features

Boosting a project's visibility is currently the only feature you can pay real money for, processed through Stripe. It's a one-time purchase for a fixed period and, like most digital goods, non-refundable once it's live — contact us if something went wrong with the charge itself.

What you can't do

• Fake a milestone, a stake, or an outcome, or coordinate with others to manipulate a pool.
• Use another person's account, or create accounts to get around a block.
• Try to extract shards' value outside the app — no off-platform buying, selling, or trading of shards.
• Abuse, scrape, or attack the service in ways that degrade it for other people.

Suspension and termination

We can suspend or close an account that violates these terms, including any of the above. You can stop using Vyndex at any time; shards have no cash value, so there's nothing to refund or withdraw.

No guarantees

Vyndex is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. We're not responsible for a founder's project, a milestone's outcome, or decisions you make based on activity you see here. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what, if anything, you've paid us in the past twelve months.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. We'll post the new version here with an updated date; continuing to use Vyndex after that means you accept the changes.
